Dorian knew it was the hard truth, but it did not mean he had to like it. His people probably sensed him as a coward. Their newly crowned king leaving them to die, even if they were already doomed from the start, they would think he tried nothing to protect them. “Well I doubt they see me that way.”
“Skulls bay.” He nods. They would need all of the allies they could get and with Aelin’s past she was bound to have some favors to cash in. While Dorian himself had nothing. Who would ally with the King of Ardalan? He was different from his father and he vowed to undo all the pain he’s caused, but he would always carry that weight on his shoulders. The hair on his skin raises as Aelin’s shoulder met his, a bolt of electricity running through his body. There was no gods damned way she couldn’t feel that. Regardless of the mate bond, he knew of her feelings for Rowan and he would not interfere. She deserved to be happy. He draws a shuddering breath and smiles, “I’m not looking forward to Skulls Bay. I hate the heat.”
It was that JOLT that sends her into silence again, has her sliding AWAY from him on the small wooden bench. Aelin had suspected that Dorian was her MATE from the moment their magic entwined the day they brought down the Glass Castle, the world shattering around them. It was confirmed when she felt that witch drag her iron through him, and then she KNEW. But she couldn’t bring herself to bring it up now, not until her feet were under solid ground.
She nods. “ Yes. I have a few life debts OWED to me and I intend to cash them all in before this war is done. ” Rolfe, the Pirate Lord of Skull’s Bay. She didn’t have a life debt to dangle in front of him; no, not with the way she had WRECKED his fleet and his city four years ago. The Queen of Terrasen had something else up her sleeve to ensure he would join her cause, especially with that magic map of his.
“ I could throw you overboard, if you’d prefer. ”
Another flash of that wicked grin.“ I’m sure the waters great. ”
“Doesn’t sound like it.” Dorian scoffs as he crosses his arms. He wondered if she thought him to be weak—- he was not weak, he vowed to never be weak or afraid again. He sighs and holds his head in his hands, “I’m sorry. I’m just— stressed I suppose. I am worried about my people I… I should not have left them Aelin, you should have left me I should be there protecting them. Instead I am running away.”
“I do trust you, I just hope you have a plan or you can at least give me a clue as to where we are headed. I’d like to be prepared.”
Aelin wrinkles her brows before moving from her spot to sit beside him, their shoulders brushing lightly against one another. She can see the PAIN in his eyes behind every word, shallowing hard against it and the bare truth of her words. Lying would do neither of them any good. “ There was nothing I could do, nothing you could do. Rifthold was doomed the moment those witches took flight. You are Adarlan’s BEST CHANCE. ”
She knew all too well the feeling of RUNNING, of betraying your people. She had felt the way the moment Darrow had shunned her from her own country. “ This is where you must set an example for them. Show them that you are not running, but fleeing to make ALLIANCES to protect them. I am hoping to gain an ally Skull’s Bay. ”
“I can defend myself, you know.” Perhaps not as well as she could, he more so relied on his…immensely unreliable abilities. He bites the inside of his cheek as his brows drew together. “I had it— nevermind.” It was useless to lie to her. Be it the bond that lay between him, but anyone with eyes could see that Dorian had barely made it out. If it weren’t for Manon’s interference and Aelin’s quick thinking he was sure his head would be served on a platter before Erawan, even better, another puppet.
He nods, “Thank you.” An awkward silence fills the air as he struggles to push down the words he desperately wants to say, if she can feel it too. “Please tell me you know where we are headed.”
“ I have no doubt. ” She replies with equal calm, Ashryver eyes never leaving him as she lounges against the edge of the boat. He had amazing abilities, thatraw magicthat was only gifted to so few. Though, even with such a gift, she knew he was no match against a legion of witches who had been playing this game far LONGER than any of them.
Raising a brow, Aelin resists the URGE to bring up that bond. If the King of Adarlan had any inkling that it was there, tethering them together, he gave no indication. She only smiles in response, a WICKED and cunning thing. “ Don’t trust me ? ”
They sit in silence as the boat drifts along the coastline, tension filled the air between them. “T-Thank you.” He whispered hoarsely trying to forget the screams of his dying people. The witches voice telling him to run, Aelin at his heels. They had barely made it out alive. “How did you know?” He wondered if it were due to this… this thread that seemed to connect them to each other. A mate bond, he’s heard. But he kept his mouth shut because she wasn’t his, or well… she didn’t know and he didn’t want to be the bearer of bad news. “Does everyone know of the witches plans?” Everyone but him?
THE QUEEN OF TERRASEN is silent for a moment, arms crossed over her chest as she studies the other before her. The slight shake of her head is the only response she gives, her mind still reeling from the force that had almost brought her to her knees in the Glass Castle.
The mating bond. She had felt it snap into the place the moment turquoise eyes met those of swirling sapphire.
“ No. I found out only because I saw them sailing past on their wyverns. Headed straight to Adarlan. ” Aelin wills her features into neutrality. She would have to deal with the bond later.“ You’re lucky I got there in time. ”
This is a roleplay blog for AELIN ASHRYVER GALATHYNIUS from Sarah J. Maas' Throne of Glass book series. I have no affiliation with Sarah J. Maas, Emilia Clarke, or anyone else. This is simply a private and independent roleplay blog and will be predominantly BOOK BASED; I have verses for every book.
II. SPOILERS
ARE NOT TAGGED. I am completely up to date on all of Sarah J. Maas' books, including the ACOTAR books. Spoilers will not be tagged for either and will be heavily present on this blog. So, if you're currently in the middle of reading the books and don't want anything spoiled, refrain from here for a little while! :)
III. SELECTIVITY
This blog is PRIVATE which means that I will only write with mutuals. This includes all starter calls, plotting calls, open posts, etc. unless specifically stated otherwise. However, memes, including in character or out of character, are open to everyone all the time, uncluding non-mutuals!
I also ask that the IM feature be kept for mutuals only, even though it is open to the public just in case. Additionally, my skype, kik, snapchat, whatever, is open to mutuals upon request.
IV. FOLLOWING
That being said, I will not follow everyone back. I will most likely not follow back duplicates of Aelin. Just because I do not follow back, does not mean that I 'hate' your blog. I like to keep my dash clean and organized; however, if you really want to interact, you can always shoot me a message with a specific plot idea in mind in order to change my mind. Additionally, it may just take me a while to follow back because I like to take my time to read through people's rules and look through their blog. Please do not repeatedly follow and unfollow me in order to get my attention, because I do notice and it does annoy me.
V. MULTI-EVERYTHING
Yes! This blog is multi-ship, multi-verse, and everything inbetween because crossovers are actually my favorite thing in the entire world. I'm a sucker for building ALL KINDS of relationships. And I do mean all kinds: childhood friends, neighbours who hate each other, longtime rivals, ex-roommates, friends from enemy families... you name it. If you've any interesting ideas for our muses, let's exchange Skypes or use the IM feature to scream headcanons at each other all night
For shipping, I do ask that the CHEMISTRY be there first and that we have been interacting for a while beforehand. This includes regular conversations between muns, as those build relationships without even having to write a thread. Honestly, just shoot me a message if you're interacted.
VI. NSFW AND TRIGGERS
Will be present on this blog. This includes sexual content, gore, dark themes and other possible triggers. I personally do not have any triggers but if we write together and something I post bothers you, feel free to send me a message and I will try to tag everything accordingly. Otherwise, the only tag I will be using will be 'nsfw'. I am over 21 years old, and I do not mind writting smut, though it is not my first priority unless we have been writing together for a while. I do not smut with minors, and I will check if our threads seem to be going in that direction. However, I'm also open to just fading to black or time skipping regardless of age.
VII. WRITING LENGTH
Will vary. Please never feel obligated to match my length. I will always perfer quality over quantity. Especially if our threads start getting extremely long, because I know those can be hard to keep going. So, as long as you give me something to work with, and vise versa, I will be more than happy.
VIII. OOC
My name is NINA and I'm from the United States, with my timezone being Eastern Standard Time. I'm a university student majoring in cell molecular biology with the intention of going to Physician Assistant School. I have a part-time job. I'm an equestrian and have been riding horses since I was a child, traveling all over the country for competitions! Roleplaying is my guilty pleasure I hope you decice to stick around. :)

DRIPPING LIKE A SATURATED SUNRISE.
MODERN AU! 1) The Fae had always been living amongst the humans. Able to shift between their Fae form and their animal form, Aelin is lucky enough that hers happens to be human. As their supernatural culture has been hidden from the mortals for thousands of years, a secret world filled with many other fairytales lives within, only visible to those born into it, or granted access by another immortal. This verse is a play on how supernatural creatures are added into worlds similar to the vampire diaries, teen wolf, true blood, etc. In order to keep her royal Fae heritage a secret while in her human form, she goes by Celaena.
2) Aelin Galathynius is completely human, born into a weathly family with a reputation and world renowned corporation. After her parents were killed at a young age, she is taken in by a close family friend, Arobynn Hamel, who raises her to be the heir to the family name and titles ( through the way he wants it run ) she is merely his pawn until curiosity gets the better of her. She attends a prestigious buisness school and plays the pianoforte.
ACOTAR! Terrasen, an old and ancient kingdom in the North, was once a part of the Courts of Prythian before the war against Hybern desolated the land and slaughtered its people. Aelin Galathynius, the only serviving royal and heir, disappeared and was thought to be dead. For the sake of this verse, imagine that Erilea is in one hemisphere of the world, while Prythian and Hybern are in the other. Rebuilding her country after traveling through hell and back, Aelin travels to the other continents in order to forge alliances for the many wars to come.
RED QUEEN! Heir to Terrasen, Aelin is sent to Norta in order to forge an alliance between the Burner Prince and the Fire-Breathing Bitch-Queen. Aelin finds their continent strange, how the difference in blood can cause such a rift in the social classes. Betrothed to Cal Calore, Aelin makes it her mission to learn as much as she can about this kingdom and how to help liberate it.

REIGN! Aelin Ashryver Galathynius was born a princess to the royal family in Bavaria. This verse follows the canon events that affect her and leave her family dead, leading her to becoming one of the greatest assassins on the continent. After being caught for trying to take down the head of a drug cartel, she was sent away. However, when the threats at the royal castle in France grew, the Queen Catherine herself freed and hired Celaena to come to court in order to PROTECT herself and her family, most importantly the new King of France. Posing as a mere High Born invited to stay at court, no one knows of the secrets lurking in the shadows, and the assassin that keeps them company.
Under Construction.

Aelin Ashryver Galathynius was born to Rhoe and Evalin Galathynius, the then King and Queen of Terrasen, in Orynth, Terrasen on May 3rd. For the first eight years of her life she lived as the crown princess and sole heir to the throne of Terrasen. It was expected of her to marry Aedion Ashryver, her cousin and confidante, to solidify the family’s claim to the throne. Her Fae heritage - she is completely Fae - afforded her some magical ability, in particular control over fire. It is this ability that led her to burn down part of the royal library, and encouraged a deep-seated fear of her Fae magic and heritage for most of her life so far. It is revealed in Heir of Fire that she encountered Dorian Havilliard as a child while his parents were on a state visit to Terrasen.
One night, the King of Adarlan decided to overthrow one of his major political opponents - the royal family of Terrasen. Aelin discovered the deaths of her parents when she climbed into their bed; she woke up to a maid’s screams and a bed filled with blood. The actions of the maid in facilitating her escape allowed Aelin to survive the massacre and bide her time. The King of Adarlan cemented his rule over Erilea by promoting across the country the deaths of the Terrasen nobility, all the while unaware of the survival of the heir. Arobynn Hamel, King of the Assassins, found Aelin half frozen and half dead on the banks of the Avery River outside the palace. He offered her a choice; to stay with him and be trained as an assassin, or to be cast off in the streets. Aelin chose the former and became an assassin, killing her first target at the age of nine. She was restyled as Celaena Sardothien to hide her true identity.
Celaena trained at the Assassin’s Keep in Rifthold, and it was here that she spent the majority of her life following the deaths of her parents. However, she was captured after attempting to exact revenge on Jayne and Farran for murdering her lover Sam Cortland. As a result, she was sent to the salt mines of Endovier and sentenced as a slave to reside there for the remainder of her life. She spent a total of one year in the mines before Dorian Havilliard removed her to compete for the title of Adarlan’s Assassin.
